So much of our lives are lived on or with computers and other digital media. What if we regularly cut ourselves off from this constant set of distractions?

The Digital Sabbath offers a simple way to do this. Once day a week disconnect. No internet. No email. No television(?) You should customise the rules but make sure they are clear.

Importantly this allows us to reflect on our other use of digital technologies. For example should we really read or reply to email in the evenings? (Probably not.) How much of our internet browsing is mindless? (Perhaps an alarming amount.)
