Often we eat in a rush, without care or attention. There are extremes of this such as a project called Soylent which aims to replace eating with a ‘more efficient’ all-in-one shake. While enjoying high quality food in a restaurant we might take it more seriously, slow down and savour it; we can make this a more day-to-day thing, by simply slowing down our eating, focus on the tastes, contrasts, textures and appearance of our food.
